Water Commissioner (Lead Hydrogeologist)
SALARY: $83,666–$131,711 annually

SUMMARY: Responsible for conducting hydrologic analyses on water right applications, review and evaluation of annual aquifer storage and recovery reports and accounting, review of monitoring plans, groundwater model development and evaluations, working with staff and management to develop policy for conjunctive management of surface and groundwater, coordination of water resource investigations with cooperating agencies, and other tasks as assigned. Field work may include water level measurements, reading totalizing meters, site visits, and inspections of projects with monitoring plans, and other field work related to hydrologic studies.

Hydrology Technician
SALARY: Based on qualifications

SUMMARY: Collects surface flow data for the District from gauging stations on the river, canals, and drain. Operates and maintains hydrologic data collection stations for the District. Obtains stream flow measurements using hydrological measurement instruments/devices. Monitors gauging stations for silt build up, vegetation growth, power supply, rodents, and vandalism; conducts repairs as needed. Troubleshoots and installs low voltage electrical systems. Repairs mechanical components of automated water control structures. Assists Water Distribution Division staff as needed with delivery of water; may occasionally assist with or perform ISO duties.

General Manager
SALARY: Based on qualifications

SUMMARY: This individual will lead approximately 35 employees in providing irrigation water delivery to nearly 100,000 acres of irrigated agriculture in southern Idaho. Responsible for the direction, supervision and coordination of the operations and maintenance of the canals, structures, equipment and hydropower plants. Must work effectively with employees while maintaining a strong working relationship with the Boards of Directors of Big Wood Canal Company and American Falls Reservoir District #2 (BWCC/AFRD2). In addition, the successful applicant should be skilled in fiscal management, records management, construction project management and have experience in dealing with people in public and private settings. Knowledge of Idaho water and property law is helpful and a working background in production agriculture is a plus.

Deputy General Manager – Energy Resources

SUMMARY: The DGM of Energy Resources provides leadership, direction and management of the Energy Resources and Hydroelectric departments. Irrigation Engineer

SUMMARY: A focus on water resources planning, hydrology/hydraulics, drainage, flood control design, and irrigation, the Water Resources Engineer will be responsible for leading the production of project deliverables from the planning stages and initial design calculations to the final reporting and development of the plans and specs. Focused on large civil works projects such as detention facilities, irrigation pumping and conveyance facilities (including diversion and control structures), reservoirs, and other hydraulic structures, the engineer will be an integral part of our growing practice within Montana and the region.
